Information Services
Used by practically every member, and successfully handling around 4,000 calls per week, the NPA information service provides critical support to pharmacists when you need it most. You have exclusive, fast access to our highly valued pharmacy advice service via our new database live on the web 24 hours a day, or by contacting our team of experts by phone or email six days a week. Standard operating procedures and other time-saving resources are also available free of charge to members to help you care safely for your patients and work more effectively.
NPA Insurance has been providing the protection that pharmacists can count on for more than 100 years, since before the NPA was founded. Our specialist team of advisors has decades of experience in the industry and a detailed understanding of what is really involved in running a pharmacy. The protection we provide is on a not-for-profit basis to keep premiums competitive. We are uniquely placed to safeguard your business, offering protection for you and your pharmacy employees to an indemnity limit of £10 million as standard.
We make it simpler for our members to cope with a plethora of complicated employment law and HR matters. You can download an array of easy to use, legally approved, template documents such as employment contracts, staff handbooks and job descriptions for free, and our online service and telephone helpline, staffed by a skilled team of legal advisers, answers hundreds of questions per month on a broad range of employment issues.
We are listening to what you tell us and you can contact us easily by phone or email. Our member magazine inPharmacy, our website, regular email communications and conferences keep you up to speed on the latest developments that are most relevant to community pharmacy.
This is the NPA’s one stop shop to help members easily administer the payment of pharmacy bills. All you need to do is send us your bills and one cheque for the total sum, and we do the rest.
We bring together our members with pharmacy graduates who want to work in community pharmacy, and support both the graduate and their tutor with training and other resources so that both parties can benefit fully from the experience.
We offer a comprehensive range of courses to help you build and maintain the skills of your entire team and comply with regulatory requirements. Training materials are designed by our experienced specialists with a wealth of pharmacy expertise. During the course of the last year 25,000 students were enrolled with the NPA.
Patient Group Directions for popular services such as flu and meningitis vaccination along with chlamydia testing and treatment and erectile dysfunction are all available from the NPA. Our representational work is focused on the issues that you tell us concern you the most. We champion the interests of all our members from single independents to larger multiple groups. Both as the NPA and through Pharmacy Voice, we proactively lobby the government at EC level as well as in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and respond to consultations and other live issues. We also work alongside our members to promote community pharmacy to the media and general public, with frequent coverage in the press and on TV and radio at national and local level.
We have been supporting community pharmacy for 90 years, offering a unique package of essential services, protection, representation and high quality advice and all are included as part of your membership fee.
