Career development

Wherever possible, the National Pharmacy Association promotes from within, and offers internal and external training opportunities to achieve this.

We want every employee to develop their performance and knowledge all the time in order to:

    • feel fulfilled in their work
    • develop their full potential by being helped to take on new challenges or develop a successful career.

The NPA believes that it will obtain the greatest performance from its employees through a systematic approach to improving and developing employees through appropriate learning and development activities that are aligned to the growth and development requirements of the company and its employees.

Through the NPA learning and development strategy:

  • Employees are supported in the development of skills to enable effectiveness in their role and improve job performance, satisfaction and motivation.
  • Employees receive sufficient preparation in advance of any learning and development activity and are able to agree with their manager how the activity will improve their performance, how the learning will be consolidated and how it will link to their achievement plan.
  • An opportunity is provided for all employees to reach their full potential and enable progression.
  • Learning is valued and supports continuing personal and professional development.
