Healthy Living Pharmacies

The Healthy Living Pharmacy concept was developed to by NHS Portsmouth (Primary Care Trust), working together with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC). It recognised the significant role community pharmacies could pay in helping reduce health inequalities by delivering consistent and high quality health and wellbeing services, promoting health and providing proactive health advice and interventions.

The Healthy Living Pharmacy (HLP) programme is now being rolled out across a number of other areas as part of an HLP pathfinder programme supported by the pharmacy organisations and Department of Health.

Healthy Living Champion Course

Healthy Living Champions are members of the pharmacy team who will provide customers with advice on health and wellbeing within the communities they serve. 

It's a course available to all support staff in the pharmacy and is available as distance based or E-learning (online).
