The introduction of the New Medicine Services provides community pharmacists with an ideal opportunity to not only enhance their own working practice by making a real difference to the health and well-being of patients, but also to build relationships with patients and other healthcare providers.
To support our members with the implementation of the New Medicine Service (NMS) the NPA Pharmacy Services team has, in conjunction with other professional organisations, launched a wide range of resources including a Standard Operating Procedure together with a comprehensive guidance document, a series of mini guides (which can be printed off as brief 30-second reminder cards for use before or during the NMS), as well as guidance on developing and improving communication and interview technique – see below for details.
