What is a Healthy Living Champion?
Healthy Living Champions are members of the pharmacy team who will provide customers with advice on health and wellbeing within the communities they serve. Healthy Living Champions will provide information and signpost customers to pharmacy services or other NHS and community services that will help them to adopt healthier lifestyles.

What is the NPA Healthy Living Champion course?
It's a course available to all support staff in the pharmacy. The course consists of four modules followed by a multiple choice question (MCQ) assessment under exam conditions. The assessment has to be completed within 45 minutes under the supervision of the pharmacist within your pharmacy.
Module topics:
- Module 1 - Health & health inequalities
- Module 2 - Effective communication
- Module 3 - Promotion of health & wellbeing
- Module 4 - Impact of behaviour change in health & wellbeing
On successful completion of the course and assessment you will receive a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Health Improvement which is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). This is the qualification required to become a Healthy Living Champion/Health Champion.
The course is also now available as an Elearning programme (please note: the MCQ assessment is still currently paper based).
