The NPA runs an active programme of communication with NHS managers, to help them understand the potential of community pharmacy and to invest in pharmacy services.
One matter about which we are in constant dialogue with the NHS is the development of the primary care estate; our goal is to help ensure that Government programmes to develop new health facilities (including, in England, GP led health centres and polyclinics) do not dislocate and otherwise disadvantage the community pharmacy network.
As part of our communication programme, we publish a journal Pharmacy Flyer, which is distributed to local authorities and NHS managers in England. NPA staff permanently based in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland take similar messages in person to NHS management.
