Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington said:

“I wanted to see for myself some of the developments in community pharmacies that mean my constituents can access a range of NHS services on their doorstep.  The visit reminds me of the important place that pharmacies have on the NHS frontline and at the heart of local communities in Carshalton and Wallington constituency. The newly refurbished Mount Elgon Pharmacy is great news for local people. It will provide a fabulous range of pharmacy services including a full range of healthchecks to prevent people from getting ill in the first place".

Tom added "I will drop in to take advantage of the Free NHS Healthcheck myself. Prevention is better than cure!”

“It’s great to see pharmacies engaging with local MPs. As the new NHS architecture starts to take shape, it’s increasingly important that MPs and local government politicians are aware of the valuable contribution pharmacies provide in local communities.”
