The National Pharmacy Association’s new Pharmacy Directorate has published a suite of resources for pharmacy superintendents.
The resources cover the range of legislative, contractual, ethical and professional requirements which govern owners of retail pharmacy business, superintendent pharmacists and responsible pharmacists.
Leyla Hannbeck, Head of Pharmacy at the National Pharmacy Association said:
“In these resources we have tried to make an incredibly complex set of obligations easier to understand. They are comprehensive yet concise. They will support our members to delegate jobs appropriately and to ensure safe and effective practice.”
Deborah Evans, Director of Pharmacy at the National Pharmacy Association said:
“I am certain our members will value this output from the NPA’s new Pharmacy Services Directorate. The changes we have introduced to our structure will enable us to supply more practical resources of this kind.”
The Pharmacy Services Department (formerly known as Information Services and Business Development) will now provide members with a range of business and practice training solutions and services for pharmacy, including a full range of Patient Group Directions, Online Doctor platform and leadership development and management training. Members will still have access to the information line, resources and access to the NPA’s information database IRIS.
Professional Development, (formerly known as Education and Training) will continue to offer a comprehensive range of accredited and mandatory regulated pharmacy training courses. Members can now access a range of blended learning options to meet the training requirements of all levels of pharmacy support staff and pre-registration pharmacists.
