NPA Member event 2010 programme kicks off in Preston

25 Jan 2010

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) held its first member event of 2010 in Preston, Lancashire on Wednesday 20 January.  NPA staff led a workshop on Information Governance and NPA chairman Ian Facer gave his reflections on pharmacy business in the current climate.  This was followed by a lively Question & Answer session, at which topical issues such as the medicines supply chain, administrative burden and pharmaceutical needs assessments were hotly debated.

NPA Chairman, Ian Facer, said: “The message we are getting from members is that they are under severe pressure at this time, yet they remain determined to continue providing valuable services.   Member events are a good way of speaking on a one to one basis, finding out where NPA can better support pharmacists with resources and also gaining feedback so that we can accurately represent their views to Government and other stakeholders.”

Wing Tang, NPA Specialist Pharmacy Advisor said: “Information Governance will be a challenging issue for members in England in 2010 which is why we are covering the topic at our member events. We are aiming to increase understanding and to provide practical help.”

NPA member events will continue in 2010 throughout the United Kingdom. The next member event is being held in Milton Keynes on 23 February. For more information or to reserve your place please call 01727 858687 or email marketing@npa.co.uk.
