‘Specials’ staff pass NVQ course

15 Apr 2010

The Specials Laboratory in Northumberland recently held a graduation ceremony for its staff completing the National Pharmacy Association’s (NPA) NVQ course in Pharmacy Services.

The NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services is aimed at individuals working in a pharmacy setting, either in the community, in a hospital or laboratories. People who have gained this qualification may progress to apply to become registered pharmacy technicians (providing they meet the RPSGB application requirements).

Sukhjit Grewal, Head of NPA Education and Training said: “I was delighted to attend The Specials Laboratory’s NVQ Level 3 graduation ceremony and speak with staff who have benefited from the NPA’s course. Our training courses are rigorously and continuously checked to ensure they meet all the required professional standards and the practical needs of businesses.”

Margaret Massey, Senior Technician (training), The Special Laboratory said: “It is important for our organisation to invest in the skills of our staff to gain both job satisfaction and motivation. The support that the NPA provides throughout the two year course has been vital to our staffs’ learning.”
