The NPA is a democratic organisation - and at the forefront of its structure is an elected Board of Management. The Board meets ten times a year to direct the overall policy and operation of the Association. There are 23 Board Members, 21 of whom represent a region of the UK and 2 co-opted members representing the Lloyds and Alliance pharmacy groups. Only full members of the NPA can become Board Members and they are elected by the membership for a three year term of office. Members of the NPA Board, coming as they do from all parts of the UK, are truly representative of the nation's community pharmacy profession. The Board elects a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer annually. Each Board Member sits on one of three standing sub-committees - Finance, Business and Practice. Every three years the Board selects five of its members to act as representatives on the PSNC and one member to act as European representative on the PGEU and Europharm Forum organisations.
