Embarrassment is putting people at chlamydia risk 02 Sep 2010 A new survey by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has found poor understanding of the sexually transmitted infection chlamydia among the general public, days after Health Protection Agency figures showed a rise in infections in 2009. With a third of people too embarrassed to seek a test, the NPA is promoting the practical, confidential and discrete option of picking up a test kit from a community pharmacy.
NPA announce more member events in 2010 20 Aug 2010 The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has announced an additional six member events around the United Kingdom in 2010. The member event programme brings NPA staff face to face with members to talk through the expertise and resources available, answer member questions and gather feedback to improve member customer service.
Malaria in Maharashtra, India 02 Sep 2010 The NPA information department has received a number of queries regarding the increased risk of malaria in the Indian state of Maharashtra, notably in the city of Mumbai. This is following an increase in the number of reported cases of malaria compared to the same period in 2009, with media reports indicating that the majority of these cases have occurred in Mumbai. This recent increase in cases has coincided with the monsoon period, which began in June.
