About us:
Our pharmacy business was first established in Ilford in 1949 by Harold Wood and his business partner George Hooker. Over the years it has grown and moved and nowadays the company’s directors are Nicholas and David Wood, sons of one of the original owners. Nicholas Wood, who is Superintendent Pharmacist, qualified as a pharmacist in 1973 from the School of Pharmacy, London University and although he has spent all his career in community pharmacy, he combined that with professional service, twice being elected President of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. His brother David, who acts as an advisor to the business, has spent a career as a senior academic in the University sector and currently works as an educational advisor, providing consultancy services to the NHS amongst other bodies.
