Claiming payments and deadline reminder

Summary table of key payments to be claimed and key deadlines

We would like to remind pharmacy contractors that a number of important submission deadlines are approaching to claim for various payments. Failure to make the relevant submissions on time may mean that you do not receive the relevant payments and/or fees. The table below summarises these.

Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) dispense messages are sent within the same calendar month and claim messages should also be sent so that they are received by NHS Prescription Services before midnight on 5 November 2021.

2. NHS Discharge Medicines Service (DMS) Essential Service MYS portal Full service ­­– £35

Claims for payment should be submitted via the MYS portal no later than by the 5th of the following month in which the service was provided.

3. NHS Pandemic Delivery Service Advanced Service MYS portal A fee of £6 (includes VAT) per completed delivery. This service is available to individuals notified to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace until 11.59pm on 31 March 2022.

· All pharmacies will receive payment under the Essential Service element, and £6 (£5+VAT) for each completed delivery of prescribed items to patients under the Advanced Service element of the service

· Claims must be submitted for delivering prescribed items to eligible patients under the Advanced Service element no later than 5 November 2021.

4. NHS Community Pharmacy COVID-19 Lateral Flow Device Distribution (Pharmacy Collect) Advanced Service MYS portal One-off set-up fee of £250 + allowance for VAT

 

From 4 October 2021:

A service fee of £1.70 + VAT per transaction where a collect code is captured.

Where no collection code is provided, contractors will still be able to provide test kits, however a service fee of £1.20 + VAT per transaction

 

The set-up fee includes creating a SOP, training staff and storage of LFD test kits.

Pharmacies who decide to provide the service from the time of commissioning can complete the registration declaration on MYS portal, which will trigger a one-off payment.

By close of business on the pharmacy’s last trading day of the week, certain data must be entered on the MYS portal. Following this weekly submission data, monthly payments will be calculated based on the data present on the MYS portal by the fifth day of the following month in which the service was provided.

5. Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccination 2021/22 Advanced Service MYS portal A fee of £9.58/each adult flu vaccination administered (includes a contribution to cover training and clinical waste costs associated with the vaccination)Contractors will also be reimbursed for the vaccine cost at the basic price (list price) + allowance of applicable VAT.

An additional contribution towards the cost associated with off-site vaccinations.

Claims will be accepted by the NHSBSA within six months of administration of the vaccination or by 31 August 2022 (whichever date is earlier). Later claims will not be processed. Payments to contractors will be made monthly as part of their normal payment schedule.

 

Claims for off-site vaccinations should be made monthly (if applicable, as set out in the Drug Tariff).

 

6. Hepatitis C testing service/ Hepatitis C Point of Care Test (POCT) kit Advanced Service MYS portal A fee of £36 for each test carried out.

 

The cost of the kit at manufacturer’s list price plus VAT.

Monthly. You should aim to submit the claims by no later than the 5th of the following month in which the tests were performed to ensure that your claims are processed and you receive the payments in a timely manner.
7. Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) consultations Enhanced Service

 

MYS portal £14 per completed consultation + cost of item supplied (if applicable, as set out in the Drug Tariff). Monthly. You should aim to submit the claims by no later than the 5th of the following month in which the consultations were completed to ensure that your claims are processed and you receive the payments in a timely manner.

8. COVID-19 vaccination programme Local Enhanced Service MYS portal £12.58 is paid for each vaccination given.

Additional £10.00 payment per vaccine for housebound and care home patients.

Claims for payment should be submitted via the MYS portal no later than by the 5th of the following month in which the service was provided.

9. New Medicine Service (NMS) Advanced Service Via FP34C document (hard copy or electronically via MYS portal £20-£28 for each NMS depending on the total number of patients who receive the service in one month and number of prescriptions dispensed (as set out in the Drug Tariff). Claims for payment should be submitted via the MYS portal or paper FP34C no later than by the 5th of the following month in which the service was provided.

2. SSP issued for fluoxetine tablets 10mg (SSP05) extended to Friday 12 November 2021 The SSP for fluoxetine tablets 10mg (SSP05), which was previously due to end on Thursday 12 June 2020 has been extended with a revised expiry date of Friday 12 November 2021. Read the NPA update for full details.
3. Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) 2021/22 final declaration The declaration window is between 09:00 on 31 January 2022 and 23:59 on 25 February 2022, claims will need to be made on the MYS portal, and claims after the submission deadline will not be accepted.
