Flu and other Vaccination Services Implementation Guide
The NPA’s Learning and Development team has developed a Flu and other Vaccination Services Implementation Guide that can be used by pharmacy owners and staff. This resource will provide pharmacies with a comprehensive plan to prepare the whole pharmacy business and staff for the 2021-2022 flu season.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been many changes to the way in which the pharmacy operates, in order to maintain good infection control to ensure safety for staff and customers. This guide will address additional considerations that may need to be taken for implementing a flu or other vaccination service in the pharmacy.
The Flu and other Vaccination Implementation Guide includes advice on:
- costing models and business planning
- risk assessments
- pharmacist/patient journeys
- staff planning
- staff training
- setting up an appointment booking system
- promotional materials

We recommend you use this guide alongside other vaccination service resources in the NPA vaccination service resource pack.
