The Covid-19 vaccination programme is well underway, but a sizable proportion of the population remains doubtful about the benefits or has safety concerns.
For some, there may be cultural or ethical barriers preventing them from getting the protection afforded by covid vaccines.
Uptake is lower amongst certain Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups. This is troubling considering that rates of Covid-19 infection, severe illness and death have been higher among BAME communities, amplifying health inequalities that existed before the pandemic.
In this webinar, Dr Shirley Hopper (MHRA Expert Medical Assessor) and Professor Jeremy Brown from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation will present their detailed knowledge of Covid vaccines. They will take questions about any doubts or concerns.
A panel of pharmacists will also share their experiences of addressing vaccine hesitancy within their own pharmacy’s patient population.
The event will be chaired by NPA board member Reena Barai.
