Olivier Picard, NPA Chair has said:

"We hope this announcement will bring some immediate relief to pharmacies, who have been under relentless financial pressures for many years.

However, we remain concerned that it does very little to close the £2.5 billion funding gap that the NHS itself identified. It’s clear the current settlement is not enough to fix a decade of underfunding. Much of this uplift will disappear into covering cost increases like the minimum wage and higher business rates.

We will be hosting a live online session for all NPA members on Thursday 4 June from 20:00 - 21:15.

This session provides an opportunity for the NPA senior team members to listen to our members feedback on what this announcement means for you and your business. We will also be providing an update on what the NPA is doing and help guide our actions moving forward.
