NPA board members and chief executive Henry Gregg described the benefits of pharmacy services and explain that more support is needed from Government and NHS, to sustain vital clinical care close to home.
Henry Gregg said:
“We had a great turnout of MPs and peers for our parliamentary drop-in briefing at Westminster, to kick-off Ask Your Pharmacist Week. We need politicians of all parties to fully understand the value of community pharmacy to their constituents, so that they consistently support investment in our fantastic, yet under pressure, sector.”
NPA chair Olivier Picard, vice chair Sukhi Basra and board member Sanjay Ganvir updated MPs about developments in community pharmacy-based NHS services, including Pharmacy First, sexual health and blood pressure checks.
The event followed two meetings last week with the Pharmacy Minister Stephen Kinnock, forming part of an active programme of public affairs activity in the run up to the Budget.
It coincided with the first day of this year’s Ask Your Pharmacist campaign, which runs until 10 November.
