Patients identified as suitable for treatment using the licensed Coronavirus treatments will have received a letter from Scottish Government Chief Medical Officer Prof Gregor Smith explaining when the treatments are suitable and how to access.

Detailed CMO Directorate information for health professionals on the types of COVID-19 treatments and how they can be made available to those patients in the community at higher risk of hospitalisation due to coronavirus symptoms can be found here.

Clinical commissioning policy in Scotland for patients in non-hospitalised patients with COVID infection is detailed here.

Also note the group of patients previously referred to as Shielding Patients in Scotland are now referred to as the Highest Risk List as updated in CMO letter 41 of 2021.
