The National Pharmacy Association is a membership association for independent community pharmacy owners. The membership elects the Board, and the Board then sets the strategy which the executive of the Association implements. Being a democratic organisation with our agenda set by our members is key in ensuring that the NPA is a credible and authentic voice of community pharmacy.
Board Term
Our Board is elected for 4-year terms. All members are able to stand and vote in our elections. In line with the highest standards of governance, a Board member may not serve more than 12 years continuously on the Board.
Articles of Association
The governing document of the NPA is the Articles of Association. A new set of Articles were approved in 2022 to ensure that the NPA incorporates the latest developments in corporate governance.
Rules of the Association are made and periodically updated. The current Rules are set out below.
