As part of the centenary celebrations, the NPA is partnering with mental health charities MIND, SAMH, and INSPIRE WELLBEING across the UK to help raise funding to support their vital efforts
The work that these charities undertake has never been more important and community pharmacy plays such an important role in supporting people with mental health problems.
As a pillar of communities across the land, many pharmacies take part in charitable fundraising and engage with the voluntary sector in a variety of ways.
From a business point of view, this can have a number of benefits, including:

Would you like to be part of this initiative and be associated with a good cause to improve the lives of people with mental health problems? How? This could involve taking part in a team or individual challenge, setting up a local activity with your staff, branches or local community, having a collection tin in your pharmacy, or doing your own 100-themed idea to raise money! Why mental health?
Because of their place in communities and in healthcare, pharmacies are in a position to look after people’s mental wellbeing as well as their physical health. The pandemic and the related lockdowns have affected people’s mental health and many pharmacists are seeing the results amongst patients and staff. It seems right to reflect this in our charitable activities and to highlight that pharmacies support people with their whole health – body and mind.
