Raj was in senior management with Boots until 1983, and is a Board member of Community Pharmacy Wales. He is the past Chairman of the Kidney Wales Foundation. A Welsh Government advisor on various health and pharmaceutical committees, a former member of the Ministerial Pharmacy Strategic Delivery Group, Health Wales columnist for the Western Mail and past Council member of the prestigious ‘Russell group’ Cardiff University.
He won the 2010 Pharmacy Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the 2011 Welsh Chemist Review special award for Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy. He has also won the Health and Beauty Retailer 2003 award and the prestigious UK Clarins Gold Salon Award 2008.In 2019 , he received the prestigious IOD Director’s Award.
Raj was awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to pharmacy, the Asian Community, and charitable services, Hon Captain Royal Navy Hon consul of India , Wales and is the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of South Glamorgan and is a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. He is also the Hon Captain in the Royal Navy.
