Pre-Registration Pharmacist 2020/21

Job Description

A one-year fixed term contract to meet the requirements of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Great Britain to register as a pharmacist by undertaking:
i) a rotational competency based training programme to achieve underpinning knowledge and the specified performance standards
ii) the registration examination

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i) To assist in the operation of pharmaceutical services and delivery of patient care
ii) To participate in the competency- based training programme as required by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
iii) To be responsible for self-directed learning in order to support the collection of a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence
iv) To participate in the “in-house” and regional education training programmes
and other activities to develop skills as part of a commitment to continuing professional development
v) To participate in quarterly appraisals with the preregistration pharmacist tutor and/or manager
vi) To undertake practice research in the form of an audit
vii) To be aware of and work within: departmental procedures and polices; accepted standards of practice; and relevant legislation (e.g. Health and Safety, Medicines Act)
Viii) To at all time practice in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
ix) To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post of Preregistration Pharmacist

The postholder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and Health Service business in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1984) and Caldicott principles.

No Smoking Policy
