2020-2021 Preregistration intake
A one year fixed term contract to meet the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council in order to register as a pharmacist. The position will provide appropriate training and experience in the provision of community pharmacy pharmaceutical services in order for the trainee to become a fully qualified independent working Pharmacist.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate competence in the Performance Standards identified by the General Pharmaceutical Council, to prepare for and undertake the GPhC registration examination.
The candidate will work in a ‘Hybrid’ setting which comprises of a pharmacy and a Dispensing Doctors co-existing in the same premise. The trainee will be required to work alongside a wide multi-disciplinary team which will include ACT’s, Pharmacy Technicians, Dispensers, counter assistants, GP’s, Practice nurses, Midwives, Nurse practitioners, District Nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists and Healthcare assistants.
The candidate will also have the opportunity of working alongside the Practice Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) who ensures prescribing by GPs is cost effective and the use of these medicines is fully optimised by patients.
