Reports to: Director
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist.
You will work under the supervision of a director in a Community Pharmacy,
Assisting with all aspects of the dispensary and retail processes within this Community Pharmacy relevant to this job.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer full professional Pharmacy Services
- Complying with NHS ad GPhC requirements
- Capture all business opportunities and ensure smooth operation of the pharmacy
- Stock control, helping to maintain dispensary and counter stock levels and ordering items as per requirements to optimise profits and turnover
- Manage over the counter sales and in the dispensary as per protocol laid down
- Manage and train counter staff as required
- Answering queries on the supply and availability of medicines, and providing other information
- Responding to telephone and face to face enquiries of a routine nature from patients, their representatives, member of the public to the relevant member of the pharmacy team when necessary
- Manage Health Promotions
- Ensuring the health and safety requirements are met
- Creating and updating patients’ medication records in accordance with the standard operating procedures and data protection principles to ensure patients confidentiality
- The preparations of medicine reminder devices (dosette boxes)
- Ensuring that the pharmacy environment is welcoming and professional, including maintaining the cleanliness of the shop floor and dispensary
- Accurately completing financial transactions with customers/patients including handling cash, cheques and cards and operating the sales till and system. This will include prescriptions and over the counter sales
- Ensuring safe disposal of returned medicines
- Follow all SOPs. Develop and delivery of old and new pharmaceutical services as required by management
- Assisting clients to select the right mobility aids for their needs
- Working as part of a team and support pharmacy colleagues as appropriate
- Being aware of the health and safety and adherence to pharmacy security policies
- Be courteous and helpful to all clients who visit the pharmacy and satisfy the needs
- Actively involved in all health promotion programmes
- Develop and Promote all pharmacy services ( NHS and private)
- Understand, learn and follow accounting procedures and handling invoices and balancing the till at the end of the day
- Any other tasks necessary as may arise in the operation of the business
Note: All employees are expected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their post and may be asked to perform other duties
Qualifications: Pharmacy Degree
Essential:
- Registered with GPhC
- Good ability in customer service
Desirable:
- Show a good level of skills
- Needs to be willing to study to gain qualifications necessary for delivering services
Knowledge: Operation of a community pharmacy
Essential:
- Pharmacy Professional knowledge
- Is interested in pharmacy issues and development of services
- Understands importance of confidentiality and smooth operation of the pharmacy
