Job Description

Principle Purpose:
A one year fixed term contract to meet the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council in order to register as a pharmacist.

The programme enables the trainee to gain appropriate training and experience in the provision of community pharmacy pharmaceutical services to become a fully qualified independent working Pharmacist.
To demonstrate competence in the Performance Standards identified by the General Pharmaceutical Council. To prepare for and undertake the GPhC registration examination.

Main tasks/overview of responsibilities:

To support compliance with all statutory and professional requirements of a registered retail pharmacy business.

To develop competence through training and regular appraisals such that customers and patients receive an excellent professional and caring service.

To develop good management practice through compliance with company systems and procedures, effective use of resources, and following Pharmacy Manager/Pre-registration Programme Manager instruction and guidance.

To support maximization of NHS and retail turnover and profitability of the business.

The Hourly rate will be £8 an hour based on a 40-45 hour a week

Chemycare will pay for you to attend buttercups training days (approx. 8 in the year) to prepare for exam. We will also pay for your pre reg application to join GPHC and RPS associate membership to gain access to training materials and a free MEP guide.

The year allows for you to be away for a maximum of 40 days including bank and normal holidays. We will provide 20 days paid holiday entitlement in addition to all public holidays.

A weekly training plan will be provided before your start date, to provide structure to your training. You will also have a chance to have regular feedback/review sessions with your tutor.

Half day protected study time each week.
