Colinton Village Pharmacy has an exciting new opportunity in our independent, family-owned, community pharmacy, based in the heart of Colinton Village, Edinburgh. Established in 1952 we are a modern, forward-thinking pharmacy aiming to deliver an effective community pharmacy service, through innovations such as our recent installation of a Pharmaself24 prescription collection point and an effective refit, giving a bright and spacious dispensary.

As our superintendent pharmacist is growing her role as an independent prescriber, and our dispensing service is increasing, we feel it is time to take on a second pharmacist. This role will, initially, be part-time at 3 days per week (includes Saturday morning, 9am to 1pm) plus covering the 5 weeks holiday per year of the superintendent. These hours will include time for regular training and development. The weekday opening hours are 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.45pm, pharmacy closes over lunch.

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated to help the business succeed. Day-to-day tasks will involve delivering services, liaising with GPs and other health professionals, leading and supporting all team members to be their best, ensuring our dispensing business is timely and efficient. You will be a registered pharmacist with a current GPhC registration. You must show strong leadership skills, passion for your work and an ability to problem solve on the go. You will be expected to support the superintendent pharmacist in all aspects of the business, including staff training and review, HR management and commercial aspects.

The company aims to serve the local community for all of its pharmaceutical needs, working in an integrated way with the local GP surgery, dentists, opticians and other health providers. Importantly, our second pharmacist will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the business and to help grow and develop the pharmacy team.
