We were founded in 1897 and are now the largest pharmacy group in South Tyneside. We dispense up to 12,000 items a month and are located next door to Farnham Medical Centre. We are developing new services on a monthly basis whilst building a team of exceptional staff simultaneously.

About The Role:
We are creating a new opportunity for an Accuracy Checking Technician to join our amazing team in South Shields on a full-time basis. The pharmacy is in a great location based next door to Farnham Medical Centre. Our friendly pharmacy offers a wide range of services ie BP, DMS, Ear syringe clinic etc making it a great place for an experienced technician to really make their mark.

We sponsor a number of community groups and sports teams including being one of the main sponsors for South Shields FC first team. We employ 35 staff and have 7 vehicles on the road Monday to Saturday as we offer free same/next day delivery. We are growing both our dispensing business and our services.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- GPHC Registered Technician with an accuracy checking qualification
- At least 6 months post qualification experience
- Excellent accuracy checking record
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Good working knowledge of current and planned Pharmacy Services
Desirable:
- Management experience in a pharmacy role
- Awareness of the Pharmacy contract
- Experience of supervising apprentices and pre registration technicians
- Driving licence and acces to a vehicle as may be required to work from other sites in South Shields

Darlings Pharmacy is a household name in South Tyneside, with 3 pharmacies and plans to develop into neighbouring areas. The Farnham Road Branch dispenses between 11k and 12k scrips a month and the successful candidate is expected to develop long standing relationships with stakeholders.
