Job Description

Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacist:

– Participate in the competency-based training programme required by the GPhC
– Assist in the operation of pharmaceutical services + delivery of patient care
– Carry out activities connected with the preparation + supply of medicines. Provide advice to patients on use of medicines, general health + lifestyle matters.
– Prepare monitored dosage cassette box systems for the benefit patients
– Arrange delivery of prescription medicines to patients who are unable to attend the pharmacy
– Maintain computerised records in accordance with data protection principles to ensure patient confidentiality
– Oversee ordering + storage of medical products to ensure safety + reduce waste
– Undertake activities that support strategic objectives to maximise the profit + potential of the business
– Adhere to all present + future NHS contractual obligations
– Participate in education + training programmes + other activities to develop skills as part of a commitment to CPD
– To be responsible for self-directed learning to support the collection of a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence
– To be aware of + work within: procedures + policies; accepted standards of practice; relevant legislation
– Practice in accordance with GPhC Standards of Practice
– Work effectively to deadlines
– Ensure the effective use + control of resources
– Undertake any duties commensurate with the post
