Job Description

A Community Pharmacy Manager in England is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a pharmacy, ensuring the safe and effective provision of pharmaceutical services to the community.

 

This role involves:

  1.  Operational Management: Supervising pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to ensure smooth workflow, efficient dispensing, and accurate medication preparation
  2. Patient Care: Providing patient counselling, medication reviews, and clinical services to ensure optimal drug therapy outcomes, while addressing any queries or concerns
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including controlled substances regulations and NHS pharmacy contract standards
  4. Inventory Management: Managing stock levels, ordering medications and supplies, and maintaining accurate records of inventory
  5. Quality Assurance: Implementing quality control measures to ensure accurate dispensing and adherence to standard operating procedures
  6. Collaboration: Collaborating with healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to promote interdisciplinary patient care and address medication-related issues
  7. Patient Safety: Overseeing processes to prevent medication errors and adverse drug interactions, and promoting a culture of patient safety
  8. Staff Development: Training and developing pharmacy staff, keeping them up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmacy practice and regulations
