Location:    Various Medicare Pharmacies throughout Newtownabbey and Co Antrim

Reporting to:   Pharmacy Manager

Contract Type:     Permanent

Hours of Work:   Monday-Saturday (40 hours as per rota) inc late nights and occasional Sundays

About Medicare:
MediCare is a modern and progressive local pharmacy group.  Starting out with one pharmacy in Belfast in 1987, MediCare has grown through acquisition and is now operating 53 pharmacies and 3 health & beauty stores across Northern Ireland. We currently employ over 700 staff including 100 pharmacists.

Primary Purpose:
To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Pharmacy; to maximise NHS dispensing and the provision of Professional services; to maximise the OTC sales and profitability of the branch and to ensure all staff and pharmacists working within the branch comply with all statutory and/or professional obligations.

Candidates must demonstrate on their application how they meet the following criteria:

ESSENTIAL
Applicants must be a qualified Pharmacist registered with or eligible to be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland in July 2018.
Previous active involvement in Pharmacy services initiatives such as Smoking Cessation, Minor Ailments and Medicines Use Reviews.
Proficient in Pharmacy computer systems and Microsoft applications.
An up to date knowledge of changes within Pharmacy.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK (proof requested).

DESIRABLE
Previous experience in Medicare’s Standard Operating Procedures.
