Job Description

About Medicare:
MediCare is a modern and progressive local pharmacy group operating 53 busy, high volume retail pharmacies and 3 Health and Beauty Stores across Northern Ireland.

Primary Purpose:
To substitute for Pharmacists in MediCare Pharmacy branches across the North West Region ( 12 stores). To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Pharmacy; to maximise NHS dispensing and the provision of Professional Services; to maximise the OTC sales and profitability of the branch and to ensure all staff and pharmacists working within the branch comply with all statutory and/or professional obligations.

Candidates must demonstrate on their application how they meet the following criteria:

ESSENTIAL:
Qualified Pharmacist registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland; previous active involvement in Pharmacy Services is essential e.g., Smoking Cessation Service, Medicine Use Reviews, Minor Ailments Service, Repeat Dispensing Service etc., and Multiple Dispensing including MDS. Proficient in Pharmacy computer systems and Microsoft applications.

DESIRABLE:
One year’s experience in managing a Community Pharmacy; previous experience of Medicare’s Standard Operating Procedures and experience in managing a busy retail environment and working with Nursing Homes or the Biodose MDS System would be desirable.
