Newman Chemist is a friendly, local community pharmacy, ideal for pre-reg posts. Our ethos is to provide a patient centred service caring for the whole family. As a pre-reg your tutor will be alongside you, on site and is keen to teach you the ways of community pharmacies having been in the area for over 30 years. The pharmacy builds strong personal relationships with patients and tunes its services to suit local needs.

The pharmacy is registered to provide all the NHS advance and enhance services and most of the local public health services; including, Stop smoking service along with various vaccinations and sexual health services. We work closely with the local surgeries have good relationships with them. We work in conjunction with the local “your healthcare team” and their community matrons.

A short walk from Surbiton train station and on various bus routes, Newman’s Chemist is very easily accessible. It boasts a 100% success rate in pre-reg completion on first attempt since its introduction eight tears ago. Our training plan for pre-reg pharmacists are adopted to the individual’s need and tailored to fit the individual. Plenty of opportunity is available to gain practice in each competency and help is readily available from all members of our team.

Locum work is generally offered after registration to gain experience and build your confidence further and there are discussions to offer a hospital exchange or to open within a GP surgery at the end of the placement. Trainees have the opportunity to decide if they want cross sector experience so that this is sourced before they start.
