Managing Pharmacist

Job Description

Our Pharmacist Manager is retiring at the end of June and we are currently looking for a full-time Pharmacist Manager to replace her. Alternatively, we would be happy to consider two part-time pharmacist managers on a job-share basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to develop their career as a community pharmacy manager.
We are a local community pharmacy with a close working relationship with Pilning Surgery, who share the building. The Pharmacy and building are owned by the GP partners of Pilning Surgery, and the pharmacy is staffed by a small, highly motivated and enthusiastic team of trained individuals. Training is a key element to our operation and success, and staff are encouraged to undertake pharmacy related NVQ qualifications. We deal with Prescription Collection and Delivery Service, NHS and Private pharmacy services. The New Contract is expected to give rise to new business development opportunities for both the pharmacy and the surgery.
The successful applicant will be a well organised and self-motivated individual who can demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a small team of pharmacy staff. You will have an understanding of retail pharmacy and pharmacy funding, and will be able to identify opportunities for new business and services.
The role of the Pharmacist Manager will include proactively developing Pharmacy sales, services and profitability in a cost effective and safe manner, while adhering to legal, ethical, regulatory and company requirements. You will manage our small but committed pharmacy team, regularly auditing staff, services, systems, records and standards, and developing, sharing and implementing best practice.
You will hold current GPhC registration as a Pharmacist, and will have at least 2 years post-qualification community pharmacy experience.

Pay to be discussed, and dependant on skills, qualification and experience.

Hours will be 08.00-18.00 Monday to Friday, and the pharmacy closes between 13.00 and 14.00 every day for lunch. If on part-time job share basis, hours to be discussed and agreed. There is currently no requirement for weekend work.
