S F Wain & Sons Ltd is a busy, independent, family run community pharmacy in the East of Manchester. We are looking for a keen, interested and engaged pharmacy undergraduate to join our staff for their pre-registration year. You would be part of friendly, patient orientated and service lead team consisting of experienced pharmacists, ACTs, pharmacy technicians, dispensing assistants & MCAs.

We are a modern, newly refurbished and well equipped pharmacy offering a wide range of services available under the current pharmacy contract and a large number of Locally Commissioned Services.

Your role would be integral to the team (you would not be “just an extra member of staff”) and you will get an introduction to many aspects of the pharmacist’s role above and beyond the standard community pharmacy placement.

This will involve:-
• Automated (robot) dispensing of prescriptions (both NHS & private)
• Instalment dispensing and Supervised Consumption
• Needle Exchange
• MDS dispensing
• Drug tariff expertise
• Compression Hosiery
• Surgical & stoma appliances
• Dressings
• Emergency supplies
• Sale of medicines
• Medicines Use Reviews
• New Medicines Service
• Patient Group Directives
• Smoking Cessation (one to one counselling)
• Minor Ailment Scheme
• Pregnancy testing
• Chlamydia testing
• Supply of EHC
