Pre-Registration Pharmacist 2021/22
We have a fantastic opportunity to complete your pre-registration year at Thackers Pharmacy, our family run independent pharmacy in Baguley, Wythenshawe, which has been serving the local community for over 35 years (since 1983). We already have one pre-reg starting next year, but require one more. We have had two pre-reg tutors since 2009 and had a very successful pass rate in that time. We are a busy dispensing pharmacy that also offers many services for you to gain experience in.
The services we provide include:
Due to the volume of prescriptions we dispense, we have a dispensing robot located in the pharmacy to ease the workload. We offer experience in over the counter sales, dispensing and the various services. It is an excellent opportunity if you are a current pharmacy student, in order to gain experience and knowledge of the variety of medicines available and to gain an insight on how a pharmacy is run in the real world.
Our pre-registration year includes two weeks at UHSM hospital for valuable hospital experience and some days at a local GP surgery shadowing a pharmacist. We have 2 pre-registration students each year and 3 pharmacy students that work on Saturdays and during the week on holidays.
