Job Description

Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant

Location: Wonersh, Surrey

Hours: Tuesday to Friday 08:00 – 18:00 and Sat 09:00 – 13:00. Part time hours will also be considered.

Type of contract: Permanent

 

We are looking for a warm and friendly face to welcome the many patients who visit our pharmacy. You will advise them on over the counter medication and assist with the dispensing of patient medicines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has initiative and is not afraid of hard work and appropriate training will be made available to the successful candidate.

Reporting directly to the Pharmacist Manager, your support is vital to the pharmacist in the provision of many different services. You will be part of a hard-working and established team working on the counter, working in the dispensary and you will be involved in developing positive relationships with patients and GP surgeries to ensure that we deliver the most effective customer service in the industry.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

Support and assist all members of the pharmacy team.
Dispense prescriptions accurately and professionally within legal and company guidelines.
Ensure the correct storage of the medication including effective stock rotation.
Monitor and check expiry dates on the medication.
Sort and file prescriptions and other relevant paperwork as per the company’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Responsible for cashing up and banking.
Maintain a clean & tidy environment.
Liaise with GP surgeries and their teams to enable the pharmacy to deliver the highest possible customer service.

Qualifications & Skill’s

Ideally candidates will hold an NVQ2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services or have experience working in the pharmacy industry, however, we will provide the resources you will need to develop in this role and ensure you are given the appropriate training to carry out the job.

 

Candidates must have basic IT knowledge and good customer service skills. Candidates must also be able to perform well under pressure, and work as part of a team.
