Governance of the NPA

Rules
Article 44 permits the Board to establish rules governing matters relating to company administration. Rules are made by the Board and come into force 28 days after they are published unless a General Meeting is called in which case they shall only take effect after ratification at the General Meeting.
The Association has adopted the following Rules:
- Code of Conduct for Board Members
- Membership of the Board
- Structure of the Board and electoral process (a Board Area map is also provided)
- Code of Conduct for candidates seeking election to NPA Board
Notice of Rule Change – 23rd October 2024
The NPA Board has approved a change to the Rules of the Association. Article 44.2 of the NPA Articles of Association sets out the process for completing the adoption of the Rule.
44.2 Rules shall be available to view on a dedicated section of the Company’s website, each Rule shall have full force and effect 28 days after it is first included in that section of the website, unless a general meeting is called within that 28 day period, in which case the rule shall only take effect after ratification at that general meeting.
This change involves an insertion which is being made in the Rule on the “Structure of the Board and electoral process”:
1b. An additional place for members with 5 or fewer pharmacies in England will be created on 1st April 2025. Eligible members from any part of England may apply for this position.
This change is being made in the response to the recent growth in NPA membership.
