Helpful information

Safeguarding is about protecting people from harm, abuse, and neglect, ensuring that everyone can live, work, and study in a safe and supportive environment. As a student on one of our pharmacy courses, safeguarding isn’t just about protecting those you serve in your role - it’s also about looking after your own well-being.
As a distance learning student, you juggle work and study, and you may face challenges both in your professional and personal life. This hub is designed to provide guidance, support, and signposting to resources for anyone experiencing difficulties, whether at work, at home, or online.
Pharmacy is a trusted profession, and your role within a pharmacy setting means you may come into contact with individuals in vulnerable situations. However, you yourself may also experience risks such as:
- Workplace bullying or discrimination
- Financial struggles or housing insecurity
- Mental health challenges
- Harassment or abuse at work, home, or online
- Exposure to radicalisation, exploitation, or crime
No one should have to deal with these issues alone. Our safeguarding hub is here to help you recognise risks, understand your rights, and know where to get support.
