Pharmacy Technicians are a key role within community pharmacy.

During the pandemic, we have seen instances where they were able to utilise their skills and support the new services pertaining to Covid, such as the Covid Vaccination. In Wales, Pharmacy technicians lead on the medicines discharge services, whilst in Northern Ireland, work is underway for pharmacy technicians to also be registered as pharmacy technicians in line with the rest of the UK.

As community pharmacists move into a more clinical role, with all newly qualified pharmacists becoming independent prescribers in 2026, what are the expectations of the registered pharmacy technician of the future.

Join Nick Kaye and Helga Mangion for this key conversation and discussion, and share your thoughts to continue to influence the NPA policy on this and other matters.
