Superintendent pharmacists and responsible pharmacists webinar – getting the balance right. Pre-consultation update

This webinar will provide a timely update on the work of the board established by the four UK Chief Pharmaceutical Officers in 2013 to examine the scope of legislation and professional regulation, and the balance between them.

The Rebalancing Board programme of work includes:

• the ‘decriminalisation’ of dispensing errors
• the powers of the GPhC, particularly over premises
• the roles and responsibilities, and the balance between owners, superintendent pharmacists and responsible pharmacists
• supervision of the sale and supply of medicines

Given the passage of time since the Board’s work began, this webinar will serve as a reminder of the progress to date, detail the proposals currently in scope, and seek views of participants on the Superintendent Pharmacist/Responsible Pharmacist proposals, which will shortly be the subject of a formal consultation.
