On 9th February 2019, all 150,000 community pharmacies across the EU will be required to implement the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD).

This Directive, which seeks to reduce the risk of fake medicines entering the supply chain, will have a significant impact on all community pharmacies. Pharmacies will be required to change dispensing practices and run an authentication scan on every prescription medicine pack that they handle.

This change comes into effect before the UK leaves the EU, and so members will have to comply, regardless of the final Brexit settlement. Members now have little over a year to prepare for what is likely to be a far-reaching change.

One year and one day before FMD comes into effect, you are invited to join us for a webinar on Thursday 8th February at 7:30pm. This webinar will cover:

  • What is the Falsified Medicines Directive
  • Implications for community pharmacy
  • Impact of Brexit
  • What do you need to do to prepare
