Product Licence (PL) numbers affected – various

A Class 2 medicines recall has been issued by the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for all remaining stock of various PL numbers of ranitidine tablets 75mg manufactured by Galpharm International Limited (part of the Perrigo Group) and Omega Pharma Limited trading as Perrigo.

Pharmacists and pharmacy teams are advised to quarantine remaining stock of the affected batches and return them to their supplier/wholesaler in line with agreed processes.

The above recall is part of an ongoing issue of potential contamination of all oral ranitidine products with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) as an impurity.
