Expressions of interest for ORIEL 2019-2020 are now open

NPA members are invited for their expressions of interest for ORIEL 2019-2020. Health Education England is inviting pharmacies to be part of the year 2 centralised pharmacy pre-registration recruitment for student intake 2019. The medical system ORIEL is used as a template, where applicants will be able to apply, book interview slots and be sent offers/relevant communications via one system.

Gail Fleming, Dean of Pharmacy at Health Education England, has shared the following information regarding centralised pharmacy pre-registration recruitment for student intake 2019:

Health Education England has adopted a national recruitment and selection scheme for pre-registration pharmacist training programmes. The scheme utilises the IT system ORIEL, which was used for 2017 preregistration pharmacist recruitment and has been in place for the recruitment of dentists, doctors and healthcare scientists for a number of years.

Applicants to the scheme are required to preference programmes which they wish to be considered for. It is therefore very important that the ORIEL platform provides sufficient information to guide applicants with their preference.

You may register to recruit via the national scheme for the 2018 for pre-registration pharmacists commencing training in summer 2019. In order to register you are required to:-

– Confirm your participation by reading and agreeing to the “Confirmation of Participation” terms and agreeing to comply with Health Education England’s Quality Framework

– Provide us with relevant programme information to enable us to advertise your places on Oriel

The deadline to register and submit your information is close of play 16th March 2018. Please note we cannot accept any late submissions.
