Final chance to feed in data on pharmacy funding

03 Jun 2020

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) is urging its members to complete its “most important survey for years”, to help frame negotiations on the future funding of community pharmacy.

An expert team from global consultancy firm EY has been commissioned by the NPA to conduct an economic impact assessment of the community pharmacy funding and policy framework in England. They are considering how far restricted funding and the broader economic environment may impact on efforts to achieve NHS objectives. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on community pharmacies will also be analysed.

This ambitious piece of work will also highlight current pressure points and the impact of foreseeable changes in funding and costs.

NPA Chair, Andrew Lane, said:

“We hope ministers and NHS officials will welcome this economic study as a serious contribution to the evidence base that underpins the development of health and social care policy. This is the NPA’s most important survey for years, and I urge our members to engage with it.”

Members should go to www.npa.co.uk/representing-you/ey-survey/ to fill in the survey.
