General Election 2019 – Campaigning for community pharmacy #VotePharmacy

21 Nov 2019

The upcoming general election presents an opportunity for the sector to be recognised by future MPs as a valuable health and wellbeing asset and a solution to many longstanding problems in the NHS.

We have launched a joint manifesto for community pharmacy with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and Royal Pharmaceutical Society. During the election campaign we will be actively promoting our Community Pharmacy Manifesto to gain recognition and support from parliamentary candidates across all parties. Our message is clear: with the right support and investment from the next Government, community pharmacies can deliver even greater benefits for patients and the NHS!

Your sector needs you!

With the general election just around the corner on Thursday 12 December, we need your help to ensure that election candidates understand the value that community pharmacy delivers to the NHS, patients, local communities and wider society. A great way to do this is to invite candidates to visit your pharmacy.

To help you with this, we have launched a new joint online ‘General Election Hub’ which has a range of resources to help pharmacy teams across the UK to actively engage with their local parliamentary candidates in the run up to the general election. This is a chance to gain commitment from your local candidates to support local pharmacies!

Please help us to promote community pharmacy on social media throughout the election campaign using the hashtag #VotePharmacy.
