Lisa Banks, Chief Operating Officer at NPA Insurance.

Community pharmacy is facing challenges and change like few other professions. We are witnessing pharmacies offer an increasingly diverse range of commercial services to supplement their provision of core primary healthcare, to meet their business goals and grow the bottom line.

Here at NPA Insurance we have been listening to our members concerning the need for the right levels of protection against the emerging risk they face as they expand their remit. As a result, we are delighted to announce the launch of a new insurance product available to members which offers relevant, affordable cover for the delivery of Botox and Non-Permanent Dermal Filler treatments.

Our new Botox and Non-Permanent Dermal Filler cover can be purchased as an endorsement to our Professional Indemnity and Public Liability policy and provides access to all of the benefits our member policy provides, including an award-winning claims team, staffed with qualified lawyers to assist you in the event you need support.

We are very aware that our members are extending their areas of expertise to offer a broader range of services to their local communities and with these additional services comes additional risk.  Our in-house team of qualified lawyers, underwriting and claims management specialists is built around a deep understanding of community pharmacy, as well as broader commercial business.  The team can leverage this experience to anticipate emerging risk associated with specialist treatments such as the administration of Botox and by doing so, they can ensure that the relevant cover is in place to mitigate claims.

The team’s unrivalled knowledge and legal perspective provides our policyholders with a genuinely holistic approach to risk and claims management, delivering a tailored and supportive customer experience when it is most needed.  Our customers are allocated a dedicated lawyer for the duration of a claim, to ensure they receive the best service and support when they need it most, without being redirected to an outsourced legal team or call centre.

This holistic legal and claims led approach to risk management is at the centre of all we do. We are passionate about going the extra mile for our customers, putting their needs at the heart of our business to safeguard their businesses and reputations. We are committed to listening to our customers to enable us to continue to create the flexible and tailored cover they require to meet their evolving needs and protect them from emerging risk. Our new Botox and Non-Permanent Fillers cover is one example of our agile approach to protecting community pharmacy and empowering business diversification. In addition to Botox,  we are also offering cover for other treatment areas such as Ear Microsuction, Cryotheraphy and certain aesthetic treatments to support our members as they grow and diversify.
