20 Feb 2018
Time is running out for NPA members to nominate a candidate for the association’s forthcoming board of management elections.
Nomination forms have already been sent to members and must be returned by 12noon on Friday, February 23. Elections to all 17 regions of the NPA’s board of management will take place several weeks later.
An NPA spokesman said: “The NPA board sets the policy, strategic direction and objectives for the association.
“Board members are expected to contribute to debate in sharing ideas and deliver fresh thinking throughout the period of their service.
“In addition to board meetings, board members also participate in standing committees and/or working groups of the board.
“Overall, the remit is to ensure that the NPA is advancing the interests of independent community pharmacy owners, to the benefit ultimately of patients and communities.”
Ballot papers will be despatched on Monday, March 12, with the close of the ballot at 12noon on Friday, April 6.
Current NPA board members will stand down on Saturday, March 31, and the new board will be announced on Tuesday, April 10. The first meeting of the new board will take place on Monday, April 23.
