NPA podcasts to engage policy makers on pharmacy’s coronavirus big issues
18 May 2020
The National Pharmacy Association has launched the first in a series of ‘Pharmacy Coronacasts’ – in which high profile figures discuss life on the NHS frontline during the coronavirus pandemic.
In the first episode, published today, presenter Steve Dixon is joined by Jackie Doyle-Price MP, award winning pharmacist Ade Williams and Chair of the National Pharmacy Association Andrew Lane. They discuss how pharmacies have managed to stay open to the public while other parts of the healthcare system went behind closed doors, and think ahead to how pharmacies could be key to mass testing for COVID-19. They also ask what more government can do to support pharmacies and help with the crushing burden of extra costs.
NPA Head of Communications, Stephen Fishwick, explained:
“We hope to build up an audience of ‘movers and shakers’ by presenting serious topics in an engaging format. The podcasts will help politicians, policy-makers and other key stakeholders to get underneath the skin of the big issues, and hear the authentic voices of people with a range of perspectives.”
