NPA Response to Scottish Parliament Health and Sport Committee Inquiry into the Impact of leaving the European Union on health and social care in Scotland

26 Jan 2018

The NPA identified a number of potential implications of Brexit to the Health and Sport Committee of Scottish Parliament in response to their inquiry in January 2018.

The NPA identified potential risks, which unless Brexit is carefully managed, may affect patient care and may cause increased financial burden to the NHS across the UK. The NPA urged UK and devolved Governments to encourage pharmaceutical organisations to prepare for Brexit, take measures to protect the UK medicine supply chain, and to consider what UK governments can do to reduce the risks of service disruption and cost increases for the tax payer.
